We have a record of eight children, all born in Hempstead, Queens, Long Island, New York. They are: MOSES, CHRISTOPHER, SOLOMON, HANNAH, THOMAS, SARAH, MARY and WILLIAM.

Christopher Yeamans spent a short time in Connecticut before crossing the Sound to Queens, Hempstead, Long Island, New York.
According to a tax list printed in the town of Hempstead in the year 1685, Christopher was taxed on 150 acres of property. He left Hempstead with his family about 1720 and settled in the "White Plains" in the old town of Rye, New York. His property is shown on the map of White Plains in 1726.

Comments:
Stephen Yeoman served in the Revolutionary War 1777-1779. You will read different versions of how he was caught behind enemy lines and severely beaten. He served in the White Plains, New York, area. He is a Patriot of Daughters of The American Revolution. Pages copied from Westchester County, NY-History of The American Revolution show Stephen signed the Association Test in 1775.
Stephen was in Cornwall Township, Orange County, NY, 1790 Census.
The Benjamins said Abigail taught school where "cannonballs fell on school house." James was born in midst of all of it. (McCurdy notes.)
Stephen received land grant near Dryden, NY, granted State in 1793. 1810 Census, he was in Cayuga (now Thompkins) Co., NY.
Stephen settled in Good Hope, Fayette County, OH, in 1815. He and his sons, James and Walter, took up 1475 acres of the Richard Bibbs survey in Wayne Township. The family left New York and came down the Alleghany and OhioRivers by raft to near Cincinnati, OH, then followed the Miami Trace to Fayette County. Stephen's son James was first to arrive, followed by his father and brothers, Samuel, Gilbert and Stephen, Jr., later that year. Walter joined the family the following spring. "The first winter the family lived in a house the family built in one day. It was a mere pen with neither doors or windows." (History of Fayette County by Frank M.Allen.)

Comments:
Walter and Bethiar Yeoman lived in Cayuga County, NY, before moving to Fayette County, OH, in 1815.
He helped organize Paint Creek Baptist Church in Fayette County in 1816-18, and gave of his land for the cemetery. (McCurdy notes.)
According to their grandson, Walter Yeoman, Bethiar emigrated from Germany with her parents when a child of five years of age, and they also settled in NY. "My grandparents were very religious people, given much study of the Bible."
Walter became a prosperous farmer in the Good Hope community near Washington Court House, Ohio. His will, date March 17, 1854, and codicile dated May 17, 1854, consists of eight pages, much too long to type into the record. It was filed in the Probate Court, Washington Court house, OH, October 5, 1863.
